resizing animated gifs?

is there a way to do this? i tried opening a few gifs in my various picture programs (paint, irfanview) and was not able to resize them.

You need to do it in something that can recognize all the frames. Most programs will just open the first frame and when you resize and save the file, it becomes a "stagnant" gif. Photoshop comes with Image Ready which is what I'd be using.

I use Photoshop elements 2, with that program you can resize, crop, and change just about anything else on a gif you want. It takes about two seconds.
