Hey guys and gals,

Just heading out to head to the CHP academy. Looks like you'll be getting a break from me for a few days! :D I won't be able to post as much, unless I'm able to catch up on the weekends, but I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the friends I've made here. You guys are a bunch of great people, and this is a super site!

I'll keep you posted on the process and how things go. Here is a video of our EVOC deminstration at the academy on the class that just graduated last week. Pretty cool stuff......and WORLD renouned. I'm proud to start the process to become one of the elite.

Cecil....we do ATLEAST 80 pushups/nose-in-the-rings/judo pushups EVERY morning....and than run 1 1/2 miles! :(

Heading back to the academy in a couple hours to start my 3rd week. Everything is going great, REALLY fast paced, and a ton of yelling. I got my baton and handcuffs on Thursday and this week we start learning PMA(physical methods of arrest) so that will be fun. I also started learning the 41K vehicle codes last week....man, talk about "dry" material, I have a hard time staying awake, expecially on the days of PT(physical training). Anyways....we have a class of 189 cadets, and only 4 have quit so far, where the average for ALL the previous classes is atleast 3 a day or 20+ by the end of the 2nd week, so we are getting a ton of compliments, and they seem to be treating us better because we're doing really good.

I have yet to want to quit, and the only time I have to push myself is during the runs, I'm not a good runner, but I just keep my eye on the goal.....getting my badge and the feeling I'm going to have when I walk across that stage. :D Not only that, the PT officers are running behind me telling me I'll be riding in the "hurst" if I stop running, haha.

In week 9 or 10 we start the EVOC training, and also the Range so when I make it to the 6-7 week, it will start to get really fun!
