Ford Recall on cruise control

While I was at the dealer yesterday getting my car out of the shop, they noticed my car was on the recall list for that cruise control module that may be bad. They tried to disconnect the cruise control since they don't have the replacement parts in yet. They couldn't disconnect the cruise control because that would also disconnect the brake lights -- as they found out. FYI.

I don't think the Gen2 redundant cruise control disconnect circuit is any different other than the location of the brake pressure switch. They were likely trying to dis-connect the BOO switch - and yes disconnecting the BOO switch will result in no brake lights but disconnecting the brake pressure switch will only disable the cruise control!

Good dealer to stay away from....
