Keyless Entry keypad problem.

Greetings! As long as I've owned my (1997, base) Mark, the "9/0" switch on the keypad has been dead. This hasn't been a major problem, because my entry code doesn't use this button, and therfore works fine. I do however, miss having the ability to lock both doors by pushing 7/8 and 9/0 together. Any ideas on how difficult this is to repair? do I need a new door handle assembly, or is the keypad seperate? and is there a "take apart the door" FAQ someplace? it looks to be a bit more complicated than my '86 TownCar..

Thanks!
-Mike

RE: Keyless Entry keypad problem.

I know I've seen the keypads available at auction sites, so I'm pretty sure the keypad is available separately.

RE: Keyless Entry keypad problem.

You will have to remove the door panel in order to get to the keypad. There is only one nut to remove to get the keypad off the door handle. Once you get it off, you can disconnect the connector in the door and replace it. Just take your time and this can be an easy job.
Good luck
