Door Panels interchangeable from Gen 2 > Gen 1

I have a Gen 1 and like the door panels from a Gen 2 better. Will the Gen 2 door panels fit on the Gen 1 door?

If so, do i need to extend any wires to fit to the right switches and speaker?

It might fit. It would be close. The hooks on the back of the panel are probably in the same places, the screw under the handle might not be.

Only way to find out is to try.

Thats not the only way. People could use a measuring tape and at least get a much better idea before they go out and buy a panel.

Let me know what you want me to measure on my Gen2 and Ill let you know dims.

Thanks for the measuring hint. My dad has a 97 so maybe I will just fix his regulators and measure at the same time. thanks

All Mark VIII Doors are interchangable ! Electrical hook ups will be the biggest problem !
