I was on my way down 75 the other night and I noticed the check engine light. After I got off the highway the check engine light went off so I thought nothing of it for the time being. Then last night I was on my way home from Livonia and noticed this again.

What would cause the check engine to come on at high speeds only? Maybe an Oxygen sensor? I’m not quite sure. Has anyone else had this problem before?

Only way to tell is have it checked for codes.

Will it register even though it doesn't stay on all the time?

Yes, the codes are stored in memory. You can get them read at Autozone. Write the codes down, don't trust Autozones opinions.


I had that problem with both of my cars.

The red one had some misfires too. It was the O2 sensors.

The green car was the EGR DPFE sensor and a leaky EGR tube.
