Low washer message?

Has anyone had the low washer fluid light come on even if its full or not?

Can I change the sensor or do I need a new washer fluid reservoir?

Can anyone spread light on this one?

If you can find a new sensor, that's all you need to change. I had the same thing happen to my '97 and ended up buying the whole new tank...comes with sensor.... from Max at 5 Star Ford.We get a nice discount from him.

I had the same problem and bought the sensor from ford for <$20 and cleared the problem.

I just changed my washer fluid sensor yesterday. This was a little bit harder for the first gen.

I removed the plastic over the headlights. Then I removed the headlights. Next I took off the plastic around the wheels. After that I removed the bumper. This only took a few screws and I had to unclip the bumper under the headlight housing.

Once the bumper was off I had to unbolt the Trans cooler (two bolts). Then it was 4 bolts to get off the washer fluid tank off, three on the bottom and one at the top.

When I got the tank lose I just moved it closer to the radiator and changed the sensor. It was on top and easy to see.

A little harder than I expected but I am so happy I did it.
