1993 Mark VIII JBL Audio Woes

Just bought a 1993 Mark VIII with the JBL audio system and CD changer. Didn't come with an AMP and without an AMP no sound. I bought one off ebay, said to be in working order and still no sound. Well, I now get sound off and on but I have to turn it up full blast. What do you guys think???

Oh, and the CD changer won't open up either don't know if it's related. Thank You Thank You Thank You for you help.

Replace the head unit in the dash.
