Back light on the EATC module buttons

Hello M8-ers:

The buttons on my EATC do not get lit when turning the lights on; otherwise, the EATC works good and the neon display works also. This happened after a regulator malfunction (overcharge); first the light illuminating the bottom buttons went out, then the one for the "Off" and "Auto" buttons.
Now that I replaced the alternator (Motorcraft 120A) and the battery (1000 CA, 850 CCA), I wonder if the EATC has replaceble backlight (or bulbs, LEDs or??) and if so, how to take the EATC out of the center dashboard and replace the light? Any other thoughts are appreciated.

RE: Back light on the EATC module buttons

And, btw the EATC is the updated one with larger buttons - my Mark is registered as 1993 but everything, including the card, the owner's manual, etc. says it's a 94... Go figure....

RE: Back light on the EATC module buttons

Sounds like the overvoltage issue took a toll on the bulbs and stressed the filaments to the point where they proceeded to burn out.

I replaced my EATC with the updated version.

I specifically remember instructions on a label on the bottom of the unit prescribing the procedure to replace the backlight bulbs.
