Stabilizer Bar Replacement

While doing a coil over conversion, I found another new problem. There are cracks in the rear stabilizer bar.

Eddie from American Air Suspension suggested I obtain a solid bar from a Gen II Mark. I do not know how many Marks I'll find in the local junkyards and wondered if there were any other cars that would be interchangeable?

Thanks,

Joe

RE: Stabilizer Bar Replacement

I think 89-97 Thunderbirds & Supercoupes and late model MN12 Cougars. I know of one who took a Mark VIII rear sway bar and installed it in a '96 XR7 Cougar.

Addco has aftermarket bars for our application as well.

I didn't know that the Gen 2 Mark VIII had a solid rear stabilizer bar.

I replaced mine (on my red Mark) six years ago with a factory replacement and it's still good.

Only because they are NOT solid !

Bart's bar broke in half from the rust.
