Messed up Transmission

ok, heres the situation:lets say, i push the pedal 1/4 of the way down, it will accelerate smoothly then seem to go past the shift point almost like revvin in neutral then shift and the car pulls back like as if under a load..... its like the shift points are really messed up. This happened after i floored it next to a GT mustang at a dead stop and spun the tires for about 15-20 ft. what is the problem here? any help is appreciated.

Have you checked the level of the tranny fluid lately? What color was the tranny fluid?
