For a friend from an F1 site:
Ok Im reliving my childhood again and have gotten into slotcar racing again. My claim to fame was qualifying 3rd for the 1977 Australian Championship Group12 race. Car/chassis fell apart during the race and I ended up a disappointing 8th. Anyway I have resurrected the hobby pretending to the wife that its really all for the kids. The kids do enjoy it and they are involed in a comp being run by a nice old bloke out of his rumpus room where he has a nice 1/32 wooden track measuring 17 meters long.
Ive gone for the slightly more powerful 1/24 scale models and am scratch builing my chassis/body. This is where I need some help. The guy that owns the track is really into 50-60s stock cars and most of his races are based on this vintage of car. He slot car collect is insured for 160K!
Ok my question as my USA muscle car knowlodge is limited. Is there any real difference between the following cars or are they basically the same thing in different options.
1969 Dodge Charger R/T
1969 Dodge Coronet R/T
1969 Dodge Super Bee (six pack)
The cars need to be painted and look authentic. Was this model ever driven as a stocker? If so what drivers drove it? Any pics would be great.
Why a Mopar? The reason is that the car is nice and wide and has the right wheelbase to be a good slot car.
----
Any info really appreciated!
