Part of an Illinois highway is shut-down after a multi-car pileup Thursday morning.

It happened just after 7:00, on Highway 45 near Harrisburg.

Authorities tell us fog is to blame for the crash, involving more than 20 vehicles, including five semis.

The highway is shut down from Muddy to El Dorado.

Several people were taken to the hospital but we're told there are no deaths from the crash.

I was out in IL this week and stayed the night before this accident in Harrisburg. When I awoke Thursday AM, I peeked outside and it was very foggy so I was in no rush to hit the road. I went to McD's for breakfast and to give the fog a chance to burn off. As I was sitting in the truck eating, I listened to the radio and heard the news.

Wow! Had I left at my customary time, I would've likely been in the middle of it! It was just a few miles out of town.

As it turned out 2 of our work crew were involved but not seriously hurt. Unfortunately, one man's nice mid 90's Cougar was totaled. :(

Do you believe in fate?
