I saw another black first gen Mark VIII on Third Watch a few days ago. The ep was "Crime and Punishment Part 1". Not featured in a car chase this time, just caught a glimpse of one in a couple of cuts. That's one more for the Trivial Pursuit, LOD edition. :)

Actually I think they have a Mark as an "extra" so to speak. If you look carefully you'll spot it in nearly every episode somewhere on some street in the background, occasionally they use it for chase scenes.

"CHIPs" was the same way years ago. You'd see the same '69 Mach 1, VW bug, and Ford station wagon in all the highways scenes each week. It was funny to watch a chase scene each week and see them pass the same car three or four times on the Freeway while going after the "bad" guys. Watch the "Bullitt" movie chase scene and you'll see something similar as well as counting all the wheel covers that come off the Dodge Charger but are still on the car in the end :).
