No Bead Wax is Better?

I saw this infomercial thing last night that had this new product that you wash, wax and never dry. They were claiming the key to this is you want wanter to sheet off the car which this product does instead of let the water bead like wax. Does that sound right?
They said the water beading is what causes water spots and all the other small imperfections on in a car's finish.
This is contrary to what I was ever taught or learned. The beading means the paint is protected. When I think of sheeting I think of a car with no wax and a dull finish.
What do you all think?
