Gas filler door (G1/G2 interchange??)

Hello everyone, I was wondering if a '93-'96 gas door will work on a '97-'98 Mark VIII. I can get a G1 door, that I will be customizing, then installing on my G2 if it will fit and operate properly. If anyone knows, please fill me in. Thanks in advance.
