High Resolution Chameleon Paint

Went out tonight and tried to get better pics of the paint. I set Marcus's camera to the highest resolution setting, but unfortunately, a digital camera doesn't do the car justice. If you look closely, you'll see a pinkish/cranberry color fade into a teal green in the door. There's also alot of blue in the paint...and at certain angles even a champagne gold. During the day the car will be a dusky silver color..but at night it deepens into a gunmetal, greenish, steel grey.

For comparison, I added two pics I had taken under different lighting conditions right after the car was initially painted. The first pic is under shop lights, and you can see that really nice steel blue from the paint. The second was from outside the garage, at dusk, under heavy shade. There you can see that nice deep gunmetal grey/green.

RE: High Resolution Chameleon Paint

Jim,

I think I responded to one of your posts. My paint guy is in Saunders Town, R.I. He's a friend of mine so he's done all the work on the car for incredible prices. He charges me all cost on the paint and materials, and the recent work he did he charged me about 1/3 to 1/4 what it would have cost somewhere else. Tommy has been doing autobody for over 20 years. He was with Advanced Autobody in R.I. and was their exclusive paint guy. About 3 years ago he went out on his own completely. He does custom restores all day and has worked on and built $150,000 + cars. He's gotten quite a reputation at the local car shows with his and his father's cars. At one point he had jobs booked well into the next year just from word of mouth. My friend Marcus (aka Noddy) picked me up there when I dropped the car off, and he's probably going to have Tommy do his when the time comes. I still have to get a price from Tommy for Marcus's car, so if you like I'll get a price for yours...just inbox me the details on what you are looking for...type of paint...different color from stock...whether you want the whole car stripped down like mine was and painted...ie jambs...engine compartment..etc. Plus he's an absolute perfectionist. He matched my chameleon paint perfectly...16 coats...and he even redid one of my fenders because it was slightly off. He spent countless hours just making the new hood show perfect.
So, let me know if you are really interested, and I'll give you his contact info. It's quite a trek for you, but like I've said before, I think he's the best on the East Coast.

Look at "sexy pics" under the glove box..there are a ton of new pics there...and scroll down further in the thread...there are pics of the dash he painted...:) Also, there are more new pics under the "Interior" section. Hope this helped.

PS- I can send you pics if you like of what the car looked like before...It was destroyed in the front and rear. Also, I have pics from when he was actually painting the car the first time...:)
