drivers door handle?

Does anyone know were i can get a outside drivers door handle for my 94 it broke the other day. it still opens but one side is hanging
thanks for any help on this by the way iam in new england if anyone knows a place close. Thanks

I bought my door handle at my local dealer I can't remember how much but I can remember it was very reasonable(I'm thinkin around $50) I then took it to a body shop and ask to get it painted (black)they asked if i was in a hurry I said no ,two weeks later it was painted ,no charge It wasn't to hard to change just take your time

My drivers door handle just broke. $%^&*#@!!! The passenger side broke last year. Then I got one at a junkyard, painted it and using instructions, installed it. It was a hassle but doable. The drivers side has the keyless pad so I have some questions.

1. Do you remove your keyless pad and install it on the new handle?
2. Where can I find instructions for the drivers door handle R&R?
3. Does anyone have any useful advice?

I had to truck mech at our work replace the driver's side handle on my Gen2. He didn't have to remove the keypad from what I remember, but it was a pain to move around in there. Iake it out of the door think the pad just kind of hangs there from what I remember. I know he didn't take it out of the door.

I believe that the instructions should be pretty close to the ones for the pass side

Just becareful when taking off the interior panel.

Take your time ,its a puzzle to put together, i remember the pad layed in the handle surround ,just pay attetion when you take the old one out it wasn't that hard make sure you have good light

Thanks guys! When I did the passenger side someone gave me a link to directions to remove the door panel. I've searched the home page but can't find that now. Where could it be?

Just had mine off, on my '94, probaly same for gen2. Remove lens cover over light on bottom left, remove long screw. On mine, pry up window button switch plate (from pointy end toward dash), in cavity there is a bolt to remove (about 9 or 10mm), push door lock stem down to clear it when removing panel, push up on panel from bottom until loose(should rise about 1 inch or so), while raised, tilt top away from door, remove panel (extra long clasps on bottom to clear). Take loose various wire connectors (some are clips, some are screwed in), peel back thin door cavity cover. You now have access, make your repairs. Reverse everything to button up. When placing panel back, hook the two extra long clasps first, on bottom, then press, while lifting, the panel flush with door. Make sure door lock stem is through hole on top, and all clasps are into their specific door cavity, then push down on panel to engage clasps. replace bolt and screw. Be careful, the clasps are plastic.

I bought just the handle. I'm going to give that a try. When I did the passenger side I got the whole door handle assembly from a salvage yard for $25 but I couldn't find one this time.

Driver's side is in much higher demand because it's the one we all use the most.

I have to say though, I can't figure out how to get the thing off! haha I have a door with everything taken off of it and I have as much access to the door latch as I can get I think but I just don't seem to have the right sized arms to reach in there and undo the various metal bits that are attached to it.

When I was doing the passenger side I was frustrated and about to give up when a friend stopped by. He's a retired paint & body guy. He looked it over and put it in for me in about 20 minutes. I've been real nice to him and hope he'll help with this one. LOL!

I got my friend to put the handle in and gave him $100 for the 2.5 hour job. He did the passenger side last year for free.
