Watts Suspension

I recently purchased a new Merc Gran Marquis that has a Watts Suspension. Does anyone have any info on this?

Thanks

RE: Watts Suspension

Do you mean that it has a Watts link? Its a device that keeps the axle from moving side to side but allows it to go up and down. Similar to a panhard rod but more complex.

They have been around for years but panhards are more common.

I'm not sure what it means. On the window sticker in the list of features, it just states Watts Suspension and I had never heard of it before. It's probably what you said it is. Thanks for your help.

Watts suspension? All I can think of is a watts link for anti sway {lateral}.

Wish I knew enough about this new fangled thingamabob to make a drawing and post it, but no.

There is a vertical link at the center, pivoted at the center, with equidistance ends above and below. One ended is linked by horizontal bar to right frame rail with pivots both ends, the other to the left the samw way.

This combination allows vertical movement unrestricted, and positively prevents any side sway! Works great, but complicated to set up and find room to mount. Also unneeded on our MK*s.
