Norm, I hated to leave you hanging out there all alone so I got a new Mustang too. Mine is a '03 Mach 1. 4.6L DOHC 32-valves with 5-speed and 3.55 gears. But I'm keeping the Mark VIII.

...In the air I travel at Mach .825 , but on the way home I'm doing Mach 1, or at least driving in one....

I personally am not happy about this development with Bill and Norm. Mustangs....? However, if they both pledge to keep their Mark 8's, I will run out and buy a Lincoln LS and turn it into a 2 door. OK. Bill and Norm keep their rides, and I'll turn an LS into a 2 door, (which by the way, the car should at the very least be available as an option.). That "B" pillar in the a$$ thing is very bothersome.

Yeah Joe, the Mach 1 motor would work great in a Mark VIII. It's got the Navigator 5.4L heads and cams for more low-end grunt and higher compression ratio than the Mark, plus you can get an automatic Mach 1 so it should bolt up fine in a Mark VIII. Most guys are getting 275-ish rwhp stock and a good exhaust gets them to 300 rwhp. The 96-98 Cobra's dyno at 250 to 260 stock and the 01 Cobra at 265+ rwhp for comparison. With the 99 Cobra over- rated horsepower fiasco, Ford learned a valuable lesson. With the ’03 Cobra and Mach 1, they’re underrating them (LOL).

Congrats on your new purchase. Check out the Bullitt and Mach 1 club. I went to one of their meetings when I was at the Ford Centennial in June. I have owned a 2002 GT since May last year. I love it. I will post pictures when Fotki becomes available again.
