All I can say is "MY GOD!"
Myself and my Cousin went to this garage right up the road from my house to purchase a 68 Chevelle drag car body from this place 1 day before it was to be torn down (Which it is now), so were in there talking to this 70 plus year old man and he says anything in those milk crates and boxes that are behind the car you can have for free.
He said it would save him the trouble of dragging this stuff to the curb for the trash guys to pick up. (Thats right TRASH Guy's)
So were digging through the stuff and its all old, old drag parts, old bell housings, old top loader cases etc.
Well we take all the crap with us (filled a 1500 chevy 8ft bed) and Im going through the stuff yesterday and I see a set of old dirtyass greasy Hemi heads.
I thought Mopar at a quick glance until I saw the spark plug wasn't in the middle it was off to the side, then I fall to my knees and get "woozy" when I realized I just got a set of 1966 Ford 427 Cammer Hemi Heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FREE !!!!!!!!!!
I just cannot believe it at all its truely like hitting the lottery, these are the rarest Ford heads ever produced!! This engine was also the first engine ever made with the aid of a computer, Ford called it the "90 Day Wonder" because it went from paper to production in 3 months!!
Heres just a little on this engine for those of you that aren't familiar.
Truly an AMAZING find!!!!!
Now my side oiler 427 short block thats been sitting for 5 years now has a set of heads!!!!!
I cannot wait.
Im looking for a 64 to do a T-Bolt clone with, so if anyone knows of one please let me know asap!!!

Without a doubt the most powerful engine EVER made, the Ford 427 Cammer was developed with the intention of taking on Chrysler's Hemis. Ford gave the 427 block new heads with hemispherical combustion chambers. To cap that, they fitted overhead camshafts -- one per cylinder bank -- which gave the engine its name and allowed it to rev to an unheard of 7,500 rpm. With the regular single four barrel carb, the "cammer" put out 616 bhp, but with dual four-barrels, it produced a massive 657 bhp. With this kind of power, the "cammer" 427 was totally unsuitable for street use. These engines were not sold to the general public, but about 50 examples were built, mostly for professional drag racers. Because of the low production volumes, NASCAR refused to accept the engine as a regular production option, and thus Ford couldn't use the engine to combat the Hemi's. This sealed this engine's fate and Ford discontinued it after 1965.
Ratings:
1x4bbl: 616bhp @ 7500rpm. 2x4bbl: 657 bhp @ 7500rpm, 550 lb-ft.
