Dodge Intrepid Problems

A guy at work had his 4-year-old Dodge Intrepid throw a rod at 62,000 miles. Come to find out these cars' engines only last on the average 45,000 to 70,000, this according to consumer complaints and other Dodge-related forums. The oil turns to sludge and causes extreme pressure on the engine. Here is the link:

Dealer wanted $5,500 to fix. Needless to say the car is history.:eek:

A friend of mine has an Intrepid of the same vintage he bought from a dealer used - the same thing happened to him within 2 weeks of buying it. Of course, they had to give him a new engine...
