WD40 strikes again...

For those of you who don't know, my daily driver is a 2002 F250
SuperDuty PowerStroke Diesel.

Over the years Ford has started to incorporate yesteryears cutting
edge technology into models not necessarily considered luxury.

One of course is the infamous 'door ajar' warning - not in a message
center but an idiot icon on the instrument panel. Lately I've noticed
the door ajar warning and the annoyance that accompanies it, like the
rear cab lamp being illuminated. I've always wondered what was up
following some idiot pickup with the cargo lamp on - now I know! ;)

A generous dose of WD40 and a good latch exercise routine with a
screwdriver and all is well again. :)

Nothing like a free fix :) . Man i love the F 250s (the diesel is awsome) especially the new ones with that special interior that looks like its made from heavy duty leather for lack of a better word. And of course the Harley Davidson editions.

I don't know about the 'HD leather' personally. It's too hot IMHO. I actually had a 2004 F250 SuperDuty PowerStroke Diesel King Ranch for a loaner a while back. That leather comes in the King Ranch package. It was an awesome truck with the new 6.0L PowerStroke and the new automatic tranny... but the sticker shock would kill ya.

Mine has over 80K now. The boss asked me how mine was doin' - I told him just fine. I'm waitin for the new retyled version in a year or two, like the newer F150. But I still want a manual tranny, manual transfer case and manual hubs. I'm old fashioned when it comes to work trucks. ::uh::

RE: WD40 strikes again...

You're talking about that leather that looks like a saddle right??? Just to be on the same page ::roll:: . Yea i mean the ones i like are over 40k once you add the powerstroke diesel 4x4 and some goodies. But still i love those trucks. :9

RE: WD40 strikes again...

The loaner had a $49K sticker on it. Whoa! Hey, it's still a Ford, ain't it?! xo

lol! 49k, that no joke i think you could get a navigator for that kind of money... but hey its no F 250 with a 6 liter powerstroke diesel droool. And besides what kind of dealership has 49k loaners... they should sending out some escorts. (Ford Escorts that is ) ::roll::

Nah, the Navigators are $60K now.

And I don't think that includes the escorts! LOL! :+

We have a fleet of F250s at work, so a 49K loaner to show one of the bosses was no biggie. Problem is once they work in the office, they seem to NOT get a PowerStroke for some reason. Now sure the new PowerStroke King Ranch would rock, but if I had to make a decision, it would be the PowerStroke XLT trim over the Triton King Ranch version.

RE: WD40 strikes again...

drooooooooool... garrett turbo... banks waste gate? Banks rock, if ya got the cash!

This being a company truck, and all my spare change going to the Mark VIII lately, I don't think I'll be changing turbos. :(

I did mod the intake to accept the huge Donaldson air filter, and I just got a 4" downpipe in the other day. I hope to do the downpipe, install an EGT gauge, buy a 75-100 HP chip - then change out the exhaust piece by piece as funds allow. :9
