What are the OEM spark plugs for my 1994 Mark VIII? I need brand and model number...getting ready to change them out at 115K for the first time. No issues...just think its time. Any advice or tips for the first-timer?

Thanks, Fife

Ok, so the Mark VIII is up and running again with a 70K mile tranny I picked up from the local salvage yard. Although I attribute my last transmission failure to a junk tranny, I am somewhat concerned about failure due to heat since this one is probably going to see a lot more use. Other than in the winter, my car is a daily driver. I use it to get to and from work and I drive it everywhere else during the year.

I am ready to ditch the two tiny Haynes stacked-plate coolers I have right now and upgrade to something enormous that is going to guarantee me the fluid will stay cool. Can anyone give me any advice on a cooler that will do the job and give me the peace of mind in knowing that my 3800 stall Circle D is not running the trans too hot?

Thanks!!!

Spinning Out of Control!

Just received a 1997 Mark VIII with 185,000 miles and lots of problems. If I cannot resolve them, it just may become a parts car for my other '97 Mark.

First problem is with the rear and/or rear axles. Left rear wheel is spinning when starting from a standing stop or at very low speeds when accelerating. Yellow spinning symbol lights up on dash. There are no other warning signs that illuminate regarding the traction control.

When I press the "Systems check" on the dash, the Traction Control checks OK.
I also have an Air Ride light that comes on, but I believe that is caused by a leak in the system.

This vehicle cannot be driven in anyway without causing the left rear wheel to spin.

Any suggestions as to what is wrong or where to start the diagnosis?

This car sat at a body shop for several years with out being driven, but the former owner states that this problem has existed for thousands of miles before he retired the car at 185,000. No one has been ito the rear or the air ride system. It is all un-touched original.
