A friend is the crew chief of a racing effort by a local businessman. They're sorting out their new racer before the season starts and were going to Runday Sunday but got rained out. It's a 63 Corvette carbon viber body on a tube frame with a 730 cubic inch engine. The engine was dynoed at 1200 hp before it was installed. They made several passes last thursday and their best was a 7.31 at 189+ mph. I'll bet that was a rush! They expect to get quicker as they get more familiar with the car. I'm looking forward to watching it run.
