  • I weighed my convertible Mark VIII today

I was curious how much weight the conversion was. These cars are usually around 3,800 lbs, but the ragtop came in at 2,420 front, 1,700 rear, 4,120 total.

That's not too bad, I weighed the 5 speed car an it came in at 3720 lbs (without out me of course)

Now that you mention it, that weight did contain me. Subtract 180 lbs and it comes up to 3,940 lbs.

140 pounds heavier than stock? It feels like it's more than that.

I'll weigh my black and green Mark's when I get a chance.

For reference, Lvnmarks' 5-speed car, when I owned it, and it was still an automatic, weighed in at 4025 with me in it (~190lbs) and 3/4 tank of fuel.

I remember having to add tools to the trunk at the Super Heavyweight shootout as the day went on, to make sure I continued to make weight.
