  • Oil filter adapter gasket?

    Hello All,
    It looks like I have several small oil leaks.
    The first seems to be from the Oil filter adapter gasket or oil pressure sensor.

    I found several threads that describe the process of removing the filter then the 4 x 10mm bolts through “the sway bar links?”

    Does anyone have any pictures?
    Any advice?

    You might want to drain the coolant before doing this job.
    I went it through the wheel welp with a ujoint and a decent extension. Wiggled my left armwith the socket in there and put it on the bolt and then shoved the extension and stuff on there through the wheel well and did that for all 4 bolts. Getting it back on is a little harder. Used a long rod to go through the holes and hold it in place while the other bolts were put in. A boltholding socket is very helpful here.

      I can only find this one. I know I took a lot of them, but can't find them, this was 2 cell phones ago.

          I'm doing this job before Carlisle, can't wait to experience the fun! So far worst I've done on this car is the drivers side valve cover gasket.

            I have done it. If I have to do it again I may pay my favorite shop. Getting it unbolted from the engine is ok if you own enough extensions. Think I pulled the wheel well off also but maybe that was just grasping straws. Getting the hoses off and on and preparing a gasket up there is stupid. Someone at Ford should lose their retirement for this design.

              I did the valve covers on my 1996 Cougar. So I totally understand. I had to customize some sockets. i ended up using screwdriver sockets with a mini ratchet. there is no space between the cover and the side of the engine bay. Also needed to take out the wiper assembly... Fun times!
