Hello,

I have a 93 MKVIII, I noticed that when I replaced the factory radio the compass eventually stops working.:confused-red:

Is there any way to get in back?:err-what?:

Thank U.

When you disconnect the battery, I believe you need to re-calibrate the compass. Look in your owners manual, it will tell you to drive in circles to get it to recognize North again. :D

Sub-Woofer = Why YES! I do! (^_^)

Driving in circles... Yes, I did.

Mind you that I replaced the OEM sterio with an after market. (what a sweet @$& unit)

In the '93s the compass unit is in the rear shelf area and the magnetic field from a large subwoofer can cause issues with the compass.

You can try repositioning the subwoofer.

In my '93 I have a simple closed single 12" sub enclosure. If I turn it around and/or position it in the trunk off center it causes no issue. Now if you have a dual 10" ported box like in my '96 - you're out of luck. :D

:big-grin: YES! I got it to work again!

Factory Amp's gone so I didn't need the tray back there anyway.
So I simply remounted the compass away from the vent holes of my Bass box.
Vioulla! The compass returns.

Thanks again you all.:lodrules:
