Is the rear weather strip that sometimes looks like a wrinkled ribbin or Lasagna. is that part of the glass? What is the fix for this? are replacements possible?

thanks

Part of the more than $1000 glass...so most live with it. Some have experimented with stuff from Home Depot with mostly poor results.

Okay, you will need to search for the posts but there was a pretty decent post about it some months ago. My memory is fading rapidly but it seems to me that it was posted by a member of Mark VIII.org named "Oldmancase".

The easiest fix is to "tuck in" the rubber into the gap underneath it. Not sure if it creates an issue with water penetration though.

you wont have a problem with water, all it is for is cosmetic, it only covers the gap between the body and the glass. the window itself is held in with urethane like any piece of glass, so tucking the trim in, cutting it off, lighting it on fire, none of these will cause water to get into the car!!!!

actually lighting it on fire might, but it wont be rain, it will be the fire dept!!
