255/45 18: When using appropriate-backspacing wheels, is there any one out there that's running a similar tire size? I know that the 245 is the accepted gospel, but I'm currently running 235/60 16's on my latest Mark 8, and I like the 27" tall tire height in how it fills up the wheelwell from an outside diameter standpoint, versus most 245/45 18's I have seen dimensions of, which are under 27"...

Yep, I have Nitto NT555 Extreme 255/45ZR18s on FR500 wheels that used to be on the Blue Flame but are now on the Town Car.

The rears will rub if you lower it too far.

I wasn't going to do much more than a 1.5" or so drop with Vogtlands.

That may be an issue on the highway when it hits a dip? I know with the stock air setup 'sensor lowered', I had to turn off the air suspension to keep it from lowering on the highway to prevent it from rubbing when encountering dips in the road at speed. With the Asham 8 module, anything less than 30% (stock height = 50%) would do the same.

It wouldn't take much of a fender roll to take care of that though.

The idiot previous owner got rid of all of the air ride (at around 50K miles, the car only has 81K on it right now), so I got the car with the Arnott/whoever spring conversion installed. Since the air ride is gone, I am finally going to install my NOS Bilsteins on this car with either a set of Eibach or Vogtlands. Concerning the wheels, I don't think I'm going to be putting the standard set of Custom Tire and Wheel Speedline 9's on it (I'm eyeballing a set of 8.5" wide Enkeis or possibly something else), so I might have a little bit of offset room to play with.

I've got the Nitro 555 245/40/18 on 2012 GT500 wheels. Rub when I lower it.
