CREMPF's Trans-axle

About 100K miles ago, we had trans-axle problems with CREMPF. Under the computer, it dropped error code 1744 – TRANS SLIP. According to the tech, the tranny fluid was burnt up.

So we R&R the tranny.

Now that we are about to visit family and friends in Ohio and Kanas next week, we have been feeling the car start to do the same thing it did before.
The car can be driven at 42 and held in the transition area between coasting and powered. The tranny seems to switch between gears. It’s like a misfire. The symptoms will go away when in 3rd gear. But OD, it’s there.

We took it to a LM dealer and they ran a computer check and test drove it. They were unable to duplicate the symptoms. It threw no codes. We told them to do a back flush and replace the tranny fluid with new Mercon V. The old fluid was not bad.

Any thought? We’ve already decided to use a rental car for the trip, because the wife and I do not trust the car make the trip without a tranny failure out of state.
