I broke open an MLPS today and had a look inside. The thing is not full of a magical powder like I thought it was. It is just a set of contacts with different paths to tell the computer what position it is in. It seems like a very basic design.

Hmmm.. so is it possible to carefully take it apart, clean the contacts, and put it back together (glue may be involved)?

No. I broke it taking it out. It was only $27 new.

Magical Powder? What the heck were you thinking? That stuff's in the cam sensor. :+
