M M8SHOSCGUY Registered Apr 16, 2006 #2 RE: head studs? If you use studs, you'll have to drop or lift the engine to get the heads on/off. Studs are stronger and the nuts can be reused, new head bolts are about $50. Those are the trades.. bolts seem to work fine for most applications. mark

[/div] This is an untrue statement. The studs can be removed first while in car and then the head will come off just like it does with the bolts.
