cat back system w. high flow cats

i finally found a quality shop in my area that is going to give me a decent price on my exhaust install, i was just wondering with a cat back exhaust w. two high flow cats and deleting the 3rd one with a double x pipe will i need to get a chip?? and will my check engine light come on??
