valve cover help!

Hello..... I am new to this site and I have been doing lots of research on removal of the drivers side valve cover i have been trying for days i feel really dumb that i cant get it out. I am completely lost at this point. I have read to remove just the driver side engine cross bolt and jack it up ......but I also read to remove just the passenger side bolt and jack it up.... If some one who has done it could you please let me know what bolt needs to be taken off. lastly do i jack up the engine from the front of the engine or the rear by the trans.
