Outside temp gauge reading -40

I blew a spark pulg out last week and now several things are not right. The AC will not come on so I took it to the shop and they told me the throttle is showing wide open on their test gauge. I also noticed that when I push the Outside temp button it reads -40. Any ideas on what may have gone wrong?

1996 Green Mark VIII Chip, twin xpipe exaust, shift kit.
 
-40 shows when there is an open circuit to the outside temperature sensor located near the hood latch. Disconnect the connector, clean it up, and reconnect it. THe AC will not come on when it thinks it is -40 outside...I've had experience with this.

Check your TPS on the back of the throttle body for your wide open throttle problem. Might be loose or bad. I'd replace it regardless because it is a pain to get to anyway and it's cheap...and they are known to go bad.
