I think my A/C is leaking at this valves.
Late year I lost that cap for that valve.Right now I just took the cap off the other valve and put it on the valve that is leaking.
I would get a cap for it. It is definitely leaking.
On a related note, I was taught that tire valve stems were just to hold the air in until the valve stem cap was put on. I think the same theory holds true here?
Looks like you need a valve stem. I don't think the cap is designed to "seal" the system. It may slow down the leak but for a long term fix I would replace the valve stem....however I'm sure you guessed that means recharging the whole system when you are done.
Whatever you do, do not let anyone put sealant in the system!
The sealant works, but the first time the system is opened, air will enter and the sealant will clog the entire system. Then you are looking at major repair costs.
