The power steering quit on the way back from lunch. It actually steered fine at speed, it was a little tougher parking though.
I got lucky, the broken belt happened 3 buildings away from work, no overheating, I pretty much coasted in.
I borrowed a ratchet from work and replaced the belt, after work, with a spare I had in my trunk. The spare belt was very crispy, so I drove the car one block away to an auto parts store and bought a new one. I put that one on, in that parking lot, and drove home.
I've changed these belts many times, but this is the first time I destroyed one.
I can't believe oil change places charge 50 bucks to replace these either.:eek-large:
I think I got my money's worth out of that old belt.
