Octastar wheels won't hold air!

My Octastar wheels are rusting/bubbling/flakeing on the inside of the wheels. This causes gaps between the wheel and tire, thus breaking the bead and deflating the tires within hours. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I've used fix-a-flat for short term fix, but it doesn't last long. A tire shop used a wire brush and scraped down one of the wheels and applied a goopy black substance and that lasted a little longer, but still nothing more than a band-aid. Any suggestions or previous experience would be appreciated.

(BTW... It's been a while since I frequented here..., love the new look. Nice to see some familiar names too.)

I had the same problem. Went to my local tire store where thay dismounted the tires and painted the inner beads with some kind of black goop to seal them up. Problem solved.

Wire brush and goopy substance is the best way to do it :(. They just have to be a tad more thorough.
