Does a gen2 fan work in a gen1

If you are replacing the fan because the motor is bad you are spending too much. It is easy to R&R the fan motor at a much lesser price than that of a entire fan assembly.
 
I have the motor only if that is what you are looking for. A fan blade broke and I bought the whole thing from Jaimie.

Im replacing the whole thing my shroud is missing a tab anyway

note to others the 98 fan on rockauto is half the price of the gen1 fan.

LOL!! In the past I had a 1960 Porsche. I need a new oil pressure sender. $1.95 for a VW Bug, $9.95 for the porsche. I'm glad I knew it was the exact same part!!
 
That's been going on forever....back in the early 60's I had a '55 Chrysler.... don't remember what the part was, but the exact same part for a Plymouth was 1/3rd the price.
