Vista just crashed today. It keep getting the blue screen of death.
Going to the Directron computer store to pick up windows 7 64bit and a new DVD rom.

How many of you guys use windows 7?

Right now I am using my Zune HD.

I had XP and it was fine. Got Vista with my new computer and had to pay an extra $200 for the professional version. Vista crashes all the time. Now they want me to pay another $200 to fix there mistakes for Windows 7!!!

I'm thinking Mac!

Before you do that, Google the words 'Mac' with 'upcoming viruses' or something similar. The experts have said that since the virus-creating community has only been hitting PCs since the beginning of time, they are starting to go after Macs as fresh meat, because they are actually MORE susceptable to viruses. For all intents and purposes, PCs have developed a good 'immune system' from the infections, so the hackers are looking for easier prey.

Apple knows this...it's the reason for the hard hitting commercials lately.

I've tested Windows 7 here at work and its tons better than Vista. Easy install, but if you are upgrading, you want to back up all your docs, pics, music, etc to an external drive. I have only done clean installs not upgrades.

Also, software for Vista should work without problems on Win 7 and alot of software for XP will work on Win 7.
I will be moving to Win 7 when I can at home.

I've also heard good things from guys that I work with here at RadioShack. These guys, who said "stay away from Vista" when it came out are saying it looks like a solid system about 7.

They also advise never upgrade; always start a new image, with old files backed up.

I'll more than likely do a quad core mother board and roll my own PC for Windows 7.

I picked up a new WD 500 GB hard drive and Windows 7 today.
Just got windows 7 installed and now installing my games.

My computer Spec.
AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core 2.5 Ghz
8 GB of Ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX 260
550 Watts power supply

I just got a new computer with Windows 7. Everything I was told was 7 is good and to go ahead with it.

I went from an old puter with xp. So far I like it, but it's taking some getting used to. The "simpler" things are made for users the harder time I seem to have with them. ;)

But man, this thing runs fast and quiet.

Good specs on the PC, how do you like Win 7 so far? I'm going to guess you like....

I have gotten at least 10 blue screen of death with Windows 7 but I think I got it working now.It look like some of my ram is going out so I took 2 2GB sticks out and it runs great now.

You need to fix your computer before blaming the OS.

I actually despise Vista because it is the words greatest resource hog. It is so anemicly slow on my laptop I want to throw it out the window... and it is a Core Duo 1.6 with 2 gigs of ram. I can't watch 2 youtube vids side by side.

On my Desktop which has a Q6600 Quad Core, it runs very fast, no performance issues except for 10 updates a week and a reboot.

But neither computer crashed or had a blue screen in 2 years, NOT EVEN once!

In the work environment, IT is going to be able to do more tricks with Windows 7. Make stuff easier for us.

Yup, memory problems can cause all kinds of misc errors.

I hate the number of windows updates Vista has. I usually set my laptop to hibernate when not in use so I don't have to wait 5 minutes for a cold boot. Then you get some random MS update that requires a reboot.

Why are you running 8 gigs of ram? haha just curious...

So I can watch 2 porn vids side by side :D:D

I was running out of ram when I was playing Grand Theft Auto IV plus I am running 64 bit windows.Might as well max at the ram for windows 64 bit. Right?

PC gaming never going to die.
Much better graphics and mobs for games.
Right now I am playing Modern Warfare 2 and Need for Speed Shift.
