Yes, I've had trouble with those dowel sleeves before.

I just put my foot on the tail shaft area of the trans and pushed it sideways while holding on to something under the car (I forget what at this point). I think I did one side then the other but it finally broke loose.

Then for reassembly, I cleaned them up and used a lot of anti sieze on them and the bolts.

Ive never actually had the dowels prevent it from coming out like this. They were either stuck in the motor or tranny

So I got the tranny out!!!!.....I did a camera install at a shop today and talked to the owner about my stuck tranny....he gave me a can of this "miracle" penetrating oil a salesman sold him a while ago that he swears by.....sprayed it on, pryed on it 20 mins later and it popped right off....this stuff is the ****, it smells and looks nothing like traditional penetrating oil I've used like liquid wrench or pb...I'm gonna try and buy a can off him.

Here's a link to their product page. Looks like you have to be a dealer to buy directly from them. Couldn't find a link to where we can buy from directly.
