    Default Kyle from Jacksonville, FL

I've had my Mark VIII for about 4 years now, but most of that time it was a second car. It sat for awhile when the brake booster went bad, and I've just now fixed it. Tomorrow, the windshield should be getting fixed, then I'll put the wipers back in and get it rolling.
I got the car with ~68k, and I'm only up to 78k now. I like working on cars (not really, I just don't like paying people for something I think I could do myself) and a while back I got a set of factory shop manuals. I've had most of the common issues already and am working on resolving them in the near future (door handles, blower motor/resistor, heater blend door, center tail light, rear bags.)
It's quite a long list of things I'd like to fix, so I came here for pointers and help sourcing.
Thank you all who've kept this forum alive for those like myself who are tardy to the party.

Hey, Mark. Do you know of many other members in the First Coast area?

Not anymore, there use to be but I think they have moved on now. I still do see Mark VIIIs in our area though, considering their low production numbers.

Looks like you need rear air springs but looks good overall and the baby mileage on that thing must be nice.

    Welcome, Kyle!

That's a nice, Low miles, Florida car you've got there. Anyone in my neck of the woods would be pleased to have such an animal.

We're glad to have you, and happy to help.

So, just a quick update. I had the windshield installed on Wednesday, somewhat. They weren't prepared for the job, since it's not a car they encounter in the wild very often, and I'm now headed out to get rivets so I can install the trim piece myself. I'm taking this opportunity to clean up all the cowl area and remove the weatherstrip to clean/wax everything I can. I'm really hating myself for letting it sit under a tree for so long, since it's gonna take days to get all the pine sap off it now. I did just get some new buffing pads delivered yesterday, so I'm excited to get the paint cleaned up.

This should be a fun one to watch. I had a similar issue with the cowl trim on mine, however in my case it was the glass company who noticed the missing ones, and replaced 'em for me.

It will be good to get that all "buttoned up." Many have experienced water leaks into the cabin as a result of a poor seal at the cowl.

Sap is never fun to clean off, but oh-so satisfying once you do. It'll be worth the effort. Keep up the good work!
