Huh, crank no start

Hey guys in this thread who told me my crank sensor was probably going bad.

This website has me believing I can check my sensor by stabbing the wires with a multi-meter (when cranking) and looking for .5 to 1 volt A/C.

Is this the best way of doing it? And where is the place upstream of the sensor I can do that same check to see if the wiring it bad in between keeping that signal from getting where it is going?

The back story is a couple weeks ago after sitting for a bit my car did not want to start. Later in the day when I was ready to work on it, the car started fine.

Now two weeks but just maybe 70 miles later (I have an Aurora also) when trying to leave work tonight it cranked great but failed to start. Wiggling the connector made no difference. Neither did tapping on the crank pulley. Changing gears made no difference. I can't get to it good enough to plug and unplug the sensor until I bring my jack stands tomorrow.

My plan is to:
-check for the voltage up-wire if possible.
-unplug and replug the sensor.
-replace the sensor.

I really do NOT know a great way of checking spark in this coil pack motor but it the motor does not sound like there is any ignition happening.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
