Importing a car

I have a question guys, I have a close friend who wants to import his Ferrari 360 Modena (I’ll post pics later ) Anyhow, what are the federal regulations? What type of issues should we expect to run into? This car is going to come from the Middle East, and I don’t think he's interested in registering it here, depending on what options he has. He’s wants to import it here in Florida for a while; are there federal laws, and state laws? Where can I at least get some info on this matter?

Not really sure where you can get info. I'd check car and driver, search their website. I know they've done a few articles about it in the past, maybe they'll have links to some info.

Sounds like someone took advantage of the no tax in Dubai..

Actully he bought it from Riyadh, no tax there either. And a very nice huge dealership.

The DMV or Secretary of State should be able to help out with your questions...

FYI, the 1999-2000 360 Modenas already have been deemed eligible for importation.

Also, be sure to check with the STATE in which the car will be registered.
