RE: Intake swap complete !
That's a great swap. Your pictures were enough to get me motivated to go ahead and do mine. I would like to contact you to answer questions on my swap. I'm putting a 94 Mark VIII engine and 4r70w in my 57 Thunderbird. The engine and trans are not in the car yet (seems like a perfect time to do the swap).
I figure that to start this, I'm going to need (from 96-98 cobra)...
- upper/lower intake plenum,
- TB and intake
- IMRCs and controller
- fuel rails
- Throttle cable (and pedal assembly)
I already have the stock Mark engine harness and the computer (with PATS disabled).
Anything important that I missed? I assume I'll need various other wiring parts, hoses, etc. I'm also assuming I'll be able to re-use some of the Mark VIII parts. Do you have a complete list of what you bought vs. reused?
Note: While the engine and tranny are out, I'll also upgrade the tranny (450hp bulletproofed with JMod, 3500 Stallion lockup converter, and Bauman TCS), plus add a 180 thermostat, remote oil filter, mid-length headers, and do the apten cooling mod, and I'll fab up a Mark fuel pump (with 255) in the stock tank. I've already got a shortened ford 9" with 4.11 posi, 31 spline axles, and disc brakes. Any other suggestions that will help get the most out of this motor/intake combo?
Also, anyone know where I can get the complete Mark VIII body wiring harness?
