Last Friday, while in VA for the Thanksgiving holidays, I visited the above museum in Quantico, VA.
Folks, this place is the absolutely most powerful experience I have ever had at any kind of museum, display, or reenactment of any kind.
I spent 7 hours touring and looking and feeling, and tears came to my eyes more than once.
They have what is termed as "immersion" displays that make you feel as though you are actually involved in the scene depicted. The one set up to make you feel as if you were on an LCVP assaulting the beach ay Iwo Jima is awesome and all enveloping.
And the actual combat films by a USMC battle photographer imbedded with a combat patrol in a raid outside the lines in Vietnam, uncensored, will bring tears to the eyes of any man or woman who has an once of emotion and feeling for other humans in their body.
