any flooring pros out there?

Mike, my experiance consists of just hiring a guy to come in and sand and refinish my hardwood floors and while he was here, to lay something on the kitchen floor!! He starts the 22nd!!!

I'm thinking of a laminate floor instead of linoleum tho.... thinking it would last longer....

Anyone have any experience with Congoleum Duraceramic flooring?

The only thing I know about flooring is that Linoleum is made from Linseed oil.

Is Congoleum made from Congseed oil?

Sorry, couldn't resist.:)

With four great danes we went with linoleum instead of hardwood. Those four dogs would have had that hardwood tore up in a few months and then we would be out sanding it. we have had our floors in now for four years and they still look brand new.

Pergo! Duke has been sliding around on our Pergo floors for about 3 years and there is no sign of any damage or scratches. Heck, we even dropped a 4" X 10" x 15' header onto the floor and it didn't even dent it!

I gotta say part of my idea for flooring in the living room will have to do with how many pets I want slipping around on the floor, lol.

Lol, its awesome to watch Duke try to go running out when he see's a bike run by....skidding and sliding in one place and then he finally gets going when he kicks the coffee table across the room and bounces off the couch, lmao!

J, it's even funnier to watch cats slide into walls. ;)

Crap, did I really just say that?

I'm having DuPont Laminate flooring installed in our kitchen and entranceway next week. It's a stone pattern. 30 year warranty and comes with the pad/underlayment already installed on each sheet. Not inexpensive at all tho....but if I don't have to touch it again as long as I live, it'll be worth it! Got at at Home Depot.

He's concerned about negative things he's heard about the Congoleum Dura-Ceramic product online. I think that's what I want to get for our entryway and kitchen (cause he insisted they were good). Now he's changing his mind, and now I'm convinced that's what I want. :)

Once this flooring is down (prob Tues or Wed), I'll let you know how it looks and feels... It LOOKS hard enough to withstand the abuse it'll get being in thise locations!

Yeah, Bud, let me know. We still have time to pick out the flooring, as we haven't even finalized the kitchen cabinets yet.

You want to see something entertaining, Youtube quality, watch 500-pounds of dog charge the front door when someone knocks. There is more sliding on the floor than a hamburger on a 4-day old greasy griddle. Very funny and lots of crashes at the door.

We put some of that in my grandmother's apartment this summer and it is holding up nice, and it cleans up real easy. The lady at the home depot recommended it over Pergo and it was on sale for the same price as Pergo so we went with the DuPont

Sharon, I really like the looks of this stuff and it really does not feel like you are standing a a real hard surface.... I can stand at the sink and do the dishes and not be leg weary when done....I'll go up and snap a pic and post it....stand by! Also put it in the front entranceway...look there too.

Here's a couple of shots:
