rear trunk light

the rear trunk light on my 98 flickers on and off and also flashes with my turn signals, does anybody know what may cause this
 
If you are refering to the neon on the trunk lid, that is a sign that the ballast is on the way out. Factory ballasts are no longer available. e-m "glitchm@hotmail.com" for a new replacment balast that he makes. I have never heard of one of his fail.
 
Could it be that the ballast is weak and the extra power the turn signal is using is causing the neon to blink? Though I've never seen a ballast that only partially failed.
