Suspension stiffening?

What is your goal with all that bracing?

You will notice the biggest difference by adding the rear sway bar...

Hmmmm... braces. Yeah I've got custom rear subframe braces, pinion brace, rear cover brace, torsion brace, rear shock tower brace, lower engine cradle brace and front subframe braces.

Now that I think about it, that's a lot of braces! :D

I still need to do sway bars.

You know, the thing that bothers me about Driller is that he just doesn't do ANYTHING to his car.

:)

Sal329, do you by any chance also own a Passat?

Bigger sway bar is the easiest way to go, and does wonders. Not sure if it is more or less affective than bracing however.

That was my first suggestion to him as well :p

I wouldn't bother with anything else at this point...

Sal, the reason I asked is because there is another guy named Sal on one of the Passat sites that I was looking at the other day that was taking a beating from the Passat guys for suggesting that the Town Car was reliable. Thought it might be you. :) My mistake.

Will the bracing on the front subframe help to stop the steering wheel vibration everytime I hit a bump? Seems like the chassis has a bunch of flex in it, especially after driving my son's Contour SVT around.

The front bracing was like putting the front end on rails - definitely an improvement.

Then how much to have you make me some?

I want them.

Haha... I was fortunate enough to get these from a former member here. They are original production Kenny Brown braces built for the MN12/FN10 platform.

One of our sponsors, SuperCoupePerformance, sells the LECBs. A couple peeps on TCCoA may also make them. The front K-member braces are bolt-on extensions of the LECB.

While working on it this past weekend, we remarked to passerbys the braces were to hold it together. :p

The gas tank shield, rear IRS subframe and trunk brace are actually what looks so bad - not including the oil pan. The underbody is otherwise in good shape.
